Servant’s Heart

We have arrived back to San Juan. This song seemed like a good prayer as we enter into our fall ministry season.

Make me a servant like you, Dear Lord
Living for others each day
Humble and meek
Helping the weak

Loving in all that I say

Give me, Lord, a servant’s heart
Here’s my life, take every part
Give me, Lord, a servant’s heart
Help me draw so close to You
That Your love comes shining through
Give me, Lord, a servant’s heart
Give me, Lord, a servant’s heartMake me a witness like You, dear Lord
Showing the love of the cross
Sharing Your Word ’till all have heard
Serving whatever the costGive me, Lord, a servant’s heart
Here’s my life, take every part
Give me, Lord, a servant’s heart
Help me draw so close to You

That Your love comes shining through
Give me, Lord, a servant’s heart
Give me, Lord, a servant’s heart

We are on week # 3 at Freedom Project Academy and Ethan and Miriam are both doing well. We like the format thus far and I am super excited about the instructors and live classes that are really engaging. Miriam started her ballet and music classes. Ethan also started his music classes as well. We love that we are able to find options like this for them to continue to have some instruction and Spanish, interact with other classmates, and learn new skills!

Sarah, George, and I have been actively planning/preparing for our first surgical team of the season that arrives on Saturday.

Jason wasted no time finding something to repair this week. He fixed a leaf blower already!

I will leave you with our current prayer requests:

  1. Internet. Our internet was working really well in the spring. It was working so well, that it helped us make the decision about moving to an online academy. However, during our summer time in the States, it started to act up. Our house sitter tried to work with the company to get it working properly, but they never came to the house to fix it (it was a bit difficult for him to arrange with them because he wasn’t at our home all day long). When we arrived on Saturday, we found it to be not working at all. I immediately called for service. They still haven’t come to the house. After hearing that fiber optic is available in our neighborhood with another service provider, I went to their office yesterday to ask. This service provider thinks that the fiberoptic is run on our street so he put the order through and this company’s tech is supposed to come to install it. So… we are waiting for 2 different techs to hopefully have working internet. Thankfully, the kids have been able to do school at the guesthouse this week without a team. Pray for RELIABLE and STABLE internet at our home.
  2. Ministry Work. Pray for our volunteers, staff, and the ministry of Solid Rock. Pray for those that we will be ministering to.
  3. Revolution Project. Jason sent us pictures today of the parking lot being paved. Every step reminds us that it is one more day closer to being open!
  4. Transition. Pray for all of the North American staff as we transition back to life in the DR and life ministering together.

Thank you for praying!

I’ll leave you with some photos.
