Up from the grave

Low in the grave He lay
Jesus my Savior!
Waiting the coming day
Jesus my Lord!Up from the grave He arose
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes
He arose a Victor from the dark domain
And He lives forever with His saints to reign
He arose! (He arose)
He arose! (He arose)
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Happy Easter from our family to yours! Christ is Risen!

Our family has been in Pennsylvania for the past 2 weeks. It has been a glorious time of visiting family, church family, and friends. We have been focusing heavily on English homeschool assignments, taking advantage of the days without Dominican school. We have also completed several medical appointments and all seems to be going well with that.

We had an unexpected visit with our Dominican coworkers, Monchi, Adia, and their son Darlin. We would never have guessed that we would be visiting with our Domincan friends in rural Pennsylvania. Monchi, Adia, and Darlin had their own visits planned with other friends and we got a call that they were staying 20 minutes from where we stay here. We didn’t even know that they were in the United States! We couldn’t pass up the moment to visit with them in one of our “homes”.

I have finished imputting data for the biannual child nutrition report and have almost concluded the report. I am glad that I had a few weeks without teams to work on the data input as it is a time consuming process. Jason has worked on several projects at our rental property and had the opportunity to play disc golf twice.

We will return to the DR this Friday and have weekend team responsibilties in Santo Domingo. We finally have our medical appointments for our residency process and those are scheduled for Monday, April 25th. Please pray for these appointments as this process has been delayed for so long, we hardly believe it when it seems like we are moving forward. Baby steps!

It certainly felt good to have a busy winter team season and we are looking forward to another full team schedule when we return.

I am never good about taking pictures, but here are a few from our visiting time.

Prayer Requests:

  1. Residency Process. Baby steps.
  2. Schooling Transition. We have enrolled Ethan and Miriam in a U.S. based online academy for the 2022-2023 school year. This will allow us to zone in on high school preparation for Ethan and work on some of Miriam’s learning difficulties. Please pray for them as they finish up their dual learning year and move into something different. Please also pray for their entrance interviews as they are both feeling a bit nervoius about those.
  3. Balance: Everyday is bring your kid to work day for us. Help us to remember to balance it all out and remember the importance of taking some family time moments here and there.
